Another way of looking at it is watching thoughts, & asking why are they there?
'Negative' ones will pop as distractions from / reactions to something difficult.
Good question to ask might be "why is this difficult?" / "what is making this difficult?"

The key is stop treating either positive or negative feedback loops as a mission or chore respectively. You have a dynamic psyche, composed of four machines: emotional, physical, intuitional, mental You don't run on infinite energy. Reasonable sized tasks, it's not a sport.

True! Though bad habits compound, and make it more difficult for us to be effective humans. Sad and uncomfortable emotions and events won't go away, but that doesn't mean you can't experience them in excess.
