Freedom comes from many places. The first most think of is externally controlled freedom. Freedom given to you or taken from you by others. Under this umbrella there is also a spectrum of control you have over the freedom/restriction others place on you. For example,

Nice thread! ..I’m thankful for life but as you know growing older you have less freedom year by year so my relationship comes down to the most basic tool of freedom: money. Just trying to dig my way out of the freedom I took away spending by working. Complicated relationship.

Definitely beginning to understand this struggle. I moved out of home at last year for uni and not having my parents to rely on financially is a big slap in the face. Lack of money is the no.1 inhibitor of my freedom atm. Unfortunate, especially given the state of the job market
