fundamentally, we are conscious observers of the universe. I like to perceive our relation as symbiotic - the universe needs us in order for its existence to be acknowledged, and likewise, we need it in order for our existence to be possible this cosmic duality fascinates me.

But if there's no creator, or higher power of any sort, then all the interactions of chemicals, planets, stars etc. right from the start would be pre- determined by laws and initial conditions. Therefore how could genuine consciousness & free will spontaneously come to be?

i have very little clue
what was the state of the universe before the big bang? surely not a whole load of nothing. matter cant be created or destroyed right? who knows. one of life's great mysteries. i for one enjoy that its not so easy to figure out :P - 3 more replies
