Bah y you do me like this. Arguing against defining hate crimes means you would have to say the same for a crime like terrorism (political motive). I think classifying crimes based on motive has a social function i.e identifying trends so we can understand how to respond

A Mafia crime or just a omicide? Lawyers spent 20 years saying Hard Jail and Hard Law are unconstitutional and this year European court of human rights declared hard jail unconstitutional. Nobody is going to change the Hard Law, tho, as 95 percent of Italians approve Hard Jail.
