Showers reminds me that there are kind of two categories here, one where you try really hard to do something with your attention, and another where you just let it run around whereever it goes. Both motions are key, and act as rest for the other.

That’s totally true. I find those that require attention are best suited for mindfulness, and those that you can ‘zone out’ in are better for contemplation
