Complexity arises from collisions between great numbers of individual entities.
The whole is more than the sum of its parts, and yet each part is integral in its form.
The lesson? Individual chooses do matter. Your actions have a ripple effect

I hear a lot of people say “well it doesn’t matter if I do x, everyone else is still doing y. I’m not making a difference” This assumes that our system is seperate from us. That some higher entity is pulling the strings and making the rules for our economy, our cultures etc

In reality it’s the collisions and relationships between all of us that both form our system, sustain it, and change it. Every individual choice matters, because without nodes interacting with each other, society wouldn’t exist.

If you maintain the status quo, the status quo will remain.
In the same vein, if you decide to act in another manner and others do the same, things will change.
Complexity isn’t an ominous being, it arises from us, human beings, just as it does with ants and schools of fish
