It’s fascinating to me that philosophy has not fully accepted the metaethical stance of moral nihilism, and that we still assess and calculate actions as having an unprovable metaphysical prop. outside of preference of those experiencing any phenom.

E.g., Lying may be dispreferable, but there is no “big book in the sky” relativistically or universally- why posit unicorns when the horse will do?

I voted “depends on situation” but on reflection I don’t know what the difference is between “no” and “depends on situation.”

In my eyes, no means lying can always be justified, and telling someone the truth is never a moral necessity. Depending on the situation means our moral obligation to lie/not lie is determined by context

Lying as self defense no, lies day to day yes. Lies distort individual reality, corrupt self-actualization and bring people one step closer to useless suffering.
