Many online courses had Labor Day sales this weekend. And yet, I did not see any universities running Labor Day sales.
Demand for uni is inelastic, but not because it’s a necessity in the way that something like petrol is. There is a constructed narrative that’s constantly perpetrated around our need for it. No wonder why we pay exorbitant prices with little complaint.

Throughout secondary school, I knew I was working towards a diploma that was the equivalent to a participation certificate. Our society prides itself on participation certificates.
