2/4 1. Attention is a conscious focusing of our mental energy unto a particular subject 2. It’s a scarce resource 3. Attention is also time-dependent, which compounds its scarcity 4. This scarcity gives it value 5. Scarcity necessitates choice making with opportunity costs

3/4 We need a framework in order to make these decisions. This is why we have VALUES. Value-based decision making regarding where we focus our attention (and when) ensures we are making the most of our time and our finite capacity to focus.
