1. Know your ultimate core values What really has meaning to you? Without knowing this, you’ll still be able to get shit done, but none of it will give you fulfilment. For me, those values are Curiosity Perseverance/grit Passion Empathy
2. Have goals (base them on your values) Write that shit down. Stick it on your above your bed, in your phone wallpaper. On your toilet door if that helps. Anything to keep it in your awareness.
3. Accept responsibility for your life I got stuck at step 2 for a long time. Don’t let that be you as well. Know that your mindset and your accomplishments are 100% in your control. No one can stop you, and likewise, now one can do it for you. Will to power. That’s freedom
4. Take the first actionable step towards your goal Do this as SOON as you have 1-3 sorted. No delay. You have to get the ball rolling to prove to yourself that this isn’t a waste of time. Your mind is your ultimate critic. Show it who’s boss.
5. Notice how it feels to fulfill your purpose Introspect. Realise how good you feel. Understand that you’re on the right path. Become cognitively aware that this is worth it. No ums and ahs. You’ve experimented and achieved a +ve result. Indulge the logical part of your brain
You will still have phases of inaction. I guarantee it. So how do you get out of these ruts and keep on your path?



Work on the following 2 skills: 1. Optimise decision making 2. Strengthen your muscle for attention and concentration This is all there is to motivation and improvement. It’s really that simple. But I’m not going to lie and say it’s easy...
If I knew exactly how to get these two working like a well oiled machine, I’d tell you right now. The reality is, I’m still experimenting w/ how to do this. And I’m getting better. So far I can definitely recommend mindfulness, and practising mono-tasking with no distractions.
What does this have to do with mental health again? Everything, and nothing at all. If you have a higher purpose, you forget all about your inhibitions, including your mental state. And in your ignorance, it will dissipate. Because ultimately, it’s useless.
That’s all it boils down to. Will x help me reach my goals? No, so x can fuck off. Come to the understanding that mental illness is literally just a fictional narrative your ego indulges in to validate its insecurities. Don’t resist this truth. Now go get shit done will you?
