Goals are made based on values. Which is probably a reason why it seems like people talk passed each other during political/social conversations. Fundamental questions get ignored and replaced by exchanges resembling "my thing is right I'm good/smart. your thing is evil/ignorant"
Our social systems are currently based on goals rather than catered to human values. Perhaps this is why so many become disenfranchised. They feel a fundamental detachment from the system as a whole.

Certainly true. I definitely could’ve phrased this one better. I meant to say that the goals usually have one end point in mind and ho through any means necessary to get there, ignoring the value based ethical questions of how they’ve gotten there
