The scientific method is not infallible. Neither is democracy. Neither is capitalism. We cannot be so arrogant as to think that in our short time here, we’ve already found out all there is to know. I think we could do better if we weren’t so afraid of trying.

Science, democracy & capitalism are united in that they are systems of error correction. As such they cannot possibly be "infallible" - but depend on fallibility for progress. They are the best we know of for sifting better from worse, falsity from truth & are paths to progress.
Best we know at the moment! I have full faith that these systems can be improved to have less negative externalities and mishaps

Indeed. Everything of which we say "We know this" is only ever "best we know at the moment". And, yes: everything is improvable. Not an article of faith: it's a consequence of physics and epistemology. See, e.g.: "The Beginning of Infinity" by David Deutsch.
