Future planning: thread
We all seem to understand the importance of planning when undertaking new tasks.
It helps us to be aware of risks and implement ways of mitigating them, and it further enables us to consider necessary actions before they are required to be taken
Why is it that this integral process is neglected when it comes to the matters of greatest importance, such as the future of our individual selves, and the future of life as a collective?

Seems to me like something is dangerously awry. I think much of the drought in future planning can be attributed to our overfocus on instantaneous pleasure and satisfaction fuelled by rampant individualism. Perhaps an increasingly collectivist mindset is necessary. Thoughts?
