I can't wait. Most kids in JC live less than 2 miles from their schools. Imagine we get rid of buses and long drop off lines and get kids to school safely via bikes and scooters!

The C St NE redesign is so good! A Dutch-style #bikeDC lane, dignified bus stops, handicapped spots with access ramps, bioswales, raised crosswalks & best of all - noticeably slower vehicle traffic! Thank you, @DDOTDC. We need more complete streets like this all over the city!

Quote Tweet
“They cut speed limits, changed street design, removed space for cars…Now it appears that work is paying off. #Oslo & #Helsinki are reaping the rewards of committed action on making their roads safer, reducing pedestrian fatalities to zero last year.” theguardian.com/world/2020/mar
CT leaders are looking past fare equity in finding tax breaks for residents. More than half of the Special Transporttation Fund in CT is sourced in a regressive sales tax.

Let's make the Seward highway safe to drive, bike, whatever--but let's do it according to public priority, not AKDOT preference. Here's the first in a series illuminating all the issues with this project, starting with its insane cost and crazy financial shortsightedness:

Advocating for Transit, safer walking, ebikes/pedal bikes > Electric Car Rebates
Quote Tweet
ICYMI: In @Slate I examined why so many US environmental groups have focused on promoting electric cars instead of advocating for more transit, walking, and biking. Only now is that starting to change. slate.com/technology/202
We are close to getting the first protected bike lanes in my town of West Hartford - can’t wait. The future is coming.
