@erickschonfeld Hi Eric, I'm doing some research about YouTube. Re this (ancient) article of yours for TechCrunch, is it still possible to see the proportion of views that are the result of a video appearing as an auto-roll ad? If so, how? Grateful!https://techcrunch.com/2011/06/19/youtube-counts-video-ads-regular-views/ …

I don’t recall offhand where I got that data, but it looks like some of it was reported by YouTube itself and some of it might be part of the video Analytics you would see for your own videos on YouTube. There are also services like Tubemogul that might break these out.

Thanks - I'm just curious whether auto roll ad content is still counted as a 'view' for the creator of the ad. Do you know, by any chance?

Thanks. I'm really just asking if the claims you made in that article still stand. If you don't know, no problem. Kind regards.

It was true 7 years ago. No idea if that’s still how they count views.

Thanks. @mattcooke_uk - do you know anything about views on YouTube? Can you DM me details of someone who might be able to assist? It's for a developing country client so I would be grateful for assistance. cc @TeamYouTube
