Grasslands and thorn forests are legitimate, living ecosystems with iconic species such as Great Indian Bustard, caracal, Indian wolf. But these species are declining because their habitat is not valued.

Last Friday, found this feisty loggerhead with monofilament line wrapped around its flipper, cutting into the skin. After a week with Sea Turtle Healing Center, we were happy to bring it home to the Indian River Lagoon today! Shout-out to

Lots of questions: Will electric cars be subsidised? Even second hand ones are expensive. What infrastructure will be put in for people who don't have off-street, individual parking? How will electricity be generated to cope with rising demand? any thoughts?

As I wrote about here, the "husband as blockade" is a well-known phenomenon among field organizers.

By the way, this is something I've noticed across my time writing about racism in fandom? White people in fandom who insert themselves into conversations about race/racism (esp if dismissing it) are actually treated WAY differently (and better) than I am

They used this network to investigate bleaching - the breakdown of the coral-symbiont relationship - and found that the structure of these associations and their thermal tolerances found in nature make even more susceptible to increasing temperatures. (3/3)

Amazing, that's a very advanced cerinula (identified in the past as Arachnactis). So cool!

Thinking of the candidates of color who brought expertise, energy, and integrity to this process, only to not clear the bar for visibility because of an arbitrary rule that has now been relaxed to let a white cisgender straight male billionaire get easier access.

...you are forcing the other people around you to work twice as hard, think twice as much, about how they move around you. And among the many factors that impact this are, obviously, upbringing. I doubt anyone would disagree with that.

My point here is not, as my learned correspondent tried to cast it, that self-centeredness is uniquely gendered or racialized. It's to make the point: whenever you move through a shared space without thinking about other people...

Every once in a while a woman will post on social media about doing this and get deluged with reply guys saying "So you just walk into people on purpose?", ignoring the fact that what is happening is men walk unthinkingly into them.

Which is that it would be rare to find a man who tells you he expects women to step aside for him in a sidewalk or narrow hallway or aisle. That's if anything the opposite of their conscious self-image, as it flies in the face of what we're told is "manners".
