Go has quite a lot of things going for it all right: - blazingly fast builds (I miss this the most) - I can open a file of Go code and almost always understand what it’s doing - usable concurrency - static binaries that allowed for easy deployment What’s not to like?https://twitter.com/kellabyte/status/1220045189554765825 …

There are things I don't like, but it's hard to beat the feeling that I'm just getting things done, which I feel like I get more often in Go. Pretty sure that's confirmation bias at work, but I do think there's often a lot less friction in going from nothing to something usable.

More standard libraries are a big one. Plus, the idea that somehow Go is going to be cross-platform needs to die (Java, do you have any thoughts here?).

There are a few frustrating immaturities in the tooling and stdlib that seem to be propped up by "historically, C coders haven't bothered with this so it's not valuable or useful" style logic, but yeah beyond that it's fine.

Any chance to be more specific? I guess the core team would appreciate it (and also me!)
