I feel as though what I showed you may look like a ton of structure, but it’s not really (I’m also ADHD). Essentially it’s free writing + queries + processing those queries into what’s worth developing, in no particular order. I also just make pages and tag them when in doubt.

The bit that got added to my workflow vs. other apps is just that I actually review what’s already written because here it’s supportive of the whole process and it’s set up for exploratory browsing, which is good adhd fun.

Setting it up for exploratory browsing just means you have to hyperlink pages and blocks frequently so you can bounce from place to place. Prioritize agility over structure. That being said, a little bit more structure is something I want to play around with.

My little min framework of tagging pages with [[premise]], [[develop]], or [[permanent]] is surprisingly useful across a wide swath of things. You can tag your notes as you go with [[blog premise]] and see them as a list of prompts you narrow down and ultimately publish.

I’m playing around with whether [[premise]] is necessary or if it’s implicit. I’m thinking it might be helpful because it lets me differentiate between notes that have been processed and those that haven’t yet if I have a query set up to pull in insight on something.

[[archive]] - [[premise]] - [[develop]] - [[permanent]] - [[publish]] can sort of be thought of like progressive summarization on a more meta level. Combine that with the highlights and bolding and it gets even better.

Btw Lukas you can do version control on the queries so that way you can see only the results that have been processed already or only those that are unprocessed by doing it this way.

How are you doing version control on queries? Version control on hashtags has been near the top of my wish list for weeks...

EUREKA! I figured it out I was hung up on trying to make version control work at the *word* level, using {{or:: etc}} so that it didn't even occur to me to try it at the paragraph level ... Awesome! Thanks! This is revolutionary
