Maybe I'm just in a super bad mood but... can we stop stigmatizing fatherhood by prefacing everything that sucks with dad? How about "lamejokes" and "lamebods"?

Yo I’m a dad and dad jokes don’t suck. My dad jokes are amazing.

I always get the sense that dad jokes are like "it's lame but cute." The implication being "just like dads".

In my brain, the connection was always that dads are the ones who tend to make this category of joke - not that they are in any way *like* the jokes. But your perspective here is interesting, I wonder if more people feel that way than I knew!

That was always the implication as well for me. But there's a second order implication of saying that this category of people are the ones who make lame cute jokes.

See also "dad bod" it's not saying dads are like their bodies, but still implying something about the character of dads by associating with that body type.
