I've had a few friends privately tell me that they're struggling to have and exert a sense of self - Is this common for your mid-twenties? Or is it a societal movement? (I think it's correlated with atomization, and also a common step on the way to self-authoring)

To elaborate on why I asked that question, I was trying to differentiate between what the questionnaire in the book was pointing to ("you judge yourself more harshly than others" ; " "secretly feel there's something wrong with you") and... something possibly different.

first person doesn't do anything that makes them feel like they're bad (which, depending on how bad it gets, could be almost anything) and the second person does more stuff probably
