People talk about personal boundaries a lot, but rarely mention what happens after something crosses your boundaries. Once it gets inside, the immune system typically kicks in.

We have an innate psychological immune system and an adaptive one. Lots of people have psychological allergies and autoimmune issues.

I had a friend in highschool who would hug me multiple times a day, regardless of my protesting or being uninviting (like being very stiff) Before that, I had a lot of anxiety around touch, especially around me accidentally touching someone - his behavior helped a *lot*
