I encourage, and would appreciate any shared opinions here — what are the most fundamental words/concepts that you can imagine? Fundamental from what perspective, you might ask Essentially, think about words which cannot easily be explained or "filed" under other concepts...

The way I perceive it, "analogies" are closely related to "metaphors" or "similes", and all of that can be linked under "comparisons" — which is a concept currently playing in the fundamental sandbox. Do you use "analogy" and "variables" interchangeably or in a linked way?

I do think analogy and comparison do fit better (I was thinking of analogy in the Douglas Hofstatder sense, fundamental to cognition), but something still bugs me about variable - it's a symbol for something else. A value, vector, matrix, even functions. Hence, analogy.
