Given my long hiatus from Twitter, I have a backlog of content I published elsewhere. Starting this thread to post it over the coming days.

An obscure book called Eat That Frog (HT
@patrissimo) is the best writeup of 99% of productivity advice I’ve encountered. My summary is the #1 google search hit! http://becomingeden.com/summary-of-eat-that-frog/ …4 replies 2 retweets 15 likesShow this thread -
Here is my concise summary of
#NVC by Marshall Rosenberg, which is a communication technique that focuses on empathizing with the other person. It’s a bit formulaic to use in practice, but is useful and important to grok: http://becomingeden.com/summary-of-nonviolent-communication/ …1 reply 1 retweet 1 likeShow this thread -
So you like
#NVC in theory, but can’t operationalize it without sounding like a robot? Then read How to Talk so Kids Will Listen. It’s meant to be parenting advice, but the first chapter alone is better than NVC for use in all communication. Experimenting with making a top-level tweet and linking it in this thread, this time on stoicism:https://twitter.com/williamaeden/status/1153004018253344769?s=21 …
William Eden added,
William Eden @WilliamAEdenHeard about stoicism but don’t really know what it is or how it can greatly benefit your life? I wrote a summary of Guide to the Good Life, which is a great modern resource for harnessing stoic philosophy: http://becomingeden.com/summary-of-a-guide-to-the-good-life/ … (It’s surprisingly similar to Buddhism!)2 replies 0 retweets 1 likeShow this thread -
Continuing with the theme of communication advice, my next summary is of the classic book How to Win Friends and Influence People. No more need be said! http://becomingeden.com/summary-of-how-to-win-friends-and-influence-people/ …

My dad had me read it when I was 13 or so - I loved it, but also pushed me toward discarding my assertiveness. I think pairing it with The Charisma Myth rounds out the advice a little better.
