Any other #actuallyAutistic have this: sensory input seems to go into like a staging area. When my brain gets to it, shortly, I extract _meaning_ from words I heard or images I saw, and I remember those meanings. But I don't remember the words, or the visuals.

What do you find this skill is particularly useful for, for what situations? (I'm still trying to uncover my talents and turn them into stories so I'm more legible to others!)

It’s really useful as a programmer. I can model flows of information in my head trivially, and I can intuitively debug them by running them in my mind. Bugs become obvious, sort of? But also I can anticipate unstated requirements intuitively, which I can surface early.
