Any other #actuallyAutistic have this: sensory input seems to go into like a staging area. When my brain gets to it, shortly, I extract _meaning_ from words I heard or images I saw, and I remember those meanings. But I don't remember the words, or the visuals.

Yeah! So for me I think of it as “discontinuity detection”. I think a lot of people think of this as “pattern recognition” but that’s not quite right - I’m not very good at patterns. But I’m great at recognizing when something doesn’t “fit”, because I’m always integrating data.

What do you find this skill is particularly useful for, for what situations? (I'm still trying to uncover my talents and turn them into stories so I'm more legible to others!)
