Kegan 5 isn't letting go of judgement, its' superpowered judgement. If you find yourself in a 4-5 transition, and you're using the lack of judgement as a crutch to switch frames, this may be a trailing edge for you. See if you can inhabit the judgement instead of judging it.

Seems to me that the word "judgement" is carrying a lot of weight there. I can imagine either feeling resonance or dissonance with what you've written, depending on how you're holding "judgement". Would you be willing to write another version that taboos the word "judgement"?

Another attempt; To inhabit an ontology, you should be able to viscerally feel its' perception of good and bad. If you hold yourself at arms' length by "understanding how people could see that as good/bad" while simultaneously holding yourself in a state neutral, that's a crutch

Hot take: holding yourself at arms length and staying neutral is likely a valid lvl 5 process, as is viscerally feeling it.

Oh, definitely! You need both, in order to dance with systems. Ronald Heifetz uses the metaphor of the balcony and the dance floor:https://gettingchangeright.wordpress.com/2010/03/18/the-dance-floor-and-the-balcony/ …
