The Interior Dept is ending a moratorium on federal coal leasing after releasing its final EA today. It found the leasing of coal projects on public land has no significant impact on the environmental or climate change.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, the Department of the Interior has ended the war on American energy and coal, which allows local communities to prosper. Coal is and will continue to be a critical part of our nation’s energy portfolio," said DOI's Casey Hammond
