I hope people everywhere wake up. This is a barbaric practice that makes no sense in our modern world.

Men saying they're glad they're cut are Aesop's foxes who lost their tails. Face the truth and protect your son from this BS.

The Aesop's fox analogy is brutal but it fits. I didn't escape the knife myself, but I'd never cut my son to justify what happened to me.

You don’t even remember what happened to you. I mean I get it, it’s your choice to not circumcise your son because you can’t stand the thought of it, but don’t pretend you are somehow a victim of a grave injustice, circumcision ain’t got nothing on FGM.

Some FGM is a nick of the clitoral hood or foreskin that doesn't remove tissue, yet is rightly prosecuted when done to a child w/out medical need. Why shouldn't medically unnecessary male circumcision be prosecuted in the same way? http://quillette.com/2017/08/15/female-genital-mutilation-health-benefits-problem-medicalizing-morality/ …

The author is careful to explain that vilification and prosecution is the clumsy way towards addressing this issue, which is exactly what this movement is all about. There are generations who don't care about their uncircumcised penises.

But you understand now that saying male circumcision "ain't got nothing on FGM" is itself pretty clumsy, right? In the 20+ years FGM has been a federal crime, there have been virtually no prosecutions. And of course, none for MGM.
