There are proven medical benefits (researched by the CDC and AAP, for example) and they actually do outweigh the risks!

The so-called "medical benefits" can be achieved without surgery. There are effective, non-invasive ways to prevent and treat rare foreskin problems. Cutting off a boy's foreskin is an unnecessary permanent body modification.

@AmerAcadPeds admits rate & impact of circ complications is unknown. How the benefits are supposed to outweigh the unknown risks is never explained. MDs from outside the US - the only place where non-religious infant circ is the norm - don't agree it's helpful or even ethical #i2
