17 people are dead. 17 of my classmates. This is how you fucking respond? How much of a heartless dick do you have to be to tweet something like this. And btw as we were running for our lives we were calling 911 to the point that they told us not to anymore. https://twitter.com/markdice/status/963894959328804866 …

I'm so sorry you had to go through not only the shooting but also this victim-blaming by
@MarkDice. Yet another illustration of how so-called "gun rights" supporters like@NRA@waynelapierrejr have absolutely no idea what they're talking about when it comes to school shootings.3 replies 20 retweets 122 likes -

@MarkDice did not victim-blame. But, you blame the tool, not the tool user.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

1/ Your fellow gun "enthusiast" shoots up a FL HS. Video shows students doing their best to avoid being killed. But
@MarkDice decides it's not good enough. The problem - b/c "we don't have a gun problem" - must be students aren't calling 911. So did HE call 911?...2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

You cannot legislate away evil. Before '34, anyone could mail order any gun. There weren't school shootings then. I wonder why?

Sadly, what Umair says here is true. And a perfect response. We are not living in 1791 or 1934. We need to stop blinding ourselves to our national pathologies. We need to recognize & address them, as they exist in 2018.
