both studies seem to rely heavily on self reported data from people who live in high risk areas and engage in high risk behaviors. how much of the study time were the men who were cut were they actually sexually active for by the end of the study? takes long to heal right?

All of these such studies pretty much have to rely on self-reported data, so we have to take each individual's subjective viewpoints w/ a grain of salt Does it take that long to heal? I don't think so, once the nerves are cut, feeling is essentially gone & other nerves take over

Otherwise they say the risk of STD and HIV transmission is increased because of things like exposing wounds that are fully healed or tearing of the scar area, etc

Also widely documented that men who have been circed as adults in many African countries believe they have 'protection' and don't need to practice safe sex, thereby increasing their risk of contracting and spreading HIV/STDs. Loss of sensation also leads many to hate condom use.

These studies cited surveyed that adult men who became circumcised more often typically reported an increase in sensitivity & function, not a decrease.

And we aren't even talking about all of the highly erogenous tissue that is removed and all of the fine touch nerve endings that are naturally in human foreskin to begin with that are lost. But these are the problems with self-reported. What man is going to admit any bad effects?

According to these 2 studies, their surveys show some men report decreased sensitivity, some no change & still others increased sensitivity. Looking further at other studies, its not exactly clear whether circumcision actually decreases sensitivity or not https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.psychologytoday.com/blog/all-about-sex/201510/does-circumcision-reduce-men-s-sexual-sensitivity%3famp …

Self-reported studies are really the only kinds of studies we have to rely on in regards to this matter. And ones which compare men who have been both uncircumcised & then circumcised seem to be the best we can use to compare such things.

well then self report should be at least taken with a grain of salt when using in empirical, scientific experiments. i also imagine that, like myself, most men in the world who have intact penises would self report that they enjoy having it for various reasons. anecdotes still

Of course. I'd argue similarly for circumcised men though. Maybe ignorance is bliss, but it's also all you've ever known, so your body adjusts & gets used to it based on the sensations it experiences, do called "synaptic plasticity". Ultimately, it's a deeply personal subject.

Yes, it's about as personal as it gets. Which is why it should be left to the person attached to the penis involved, at the age of consent. It's telling that so few of them choose to have their foreskins amputated.

Not everyone agrees w/you on that point. Although you may not like to accept it, a lot of people are very happy they are circumcised, & thankful their parents chose to circumcise them at birth rather than having to make that decision when older & it's significantly more expensive

Although you may not like to accept it, a recent study found 64% of men circumcised as neonates view their circumcisions negatively. That the overwhelming majority of intact men have no desire to be circumcised is fact, so it is not for you or anyone else to agree about.
