#i2 @AmerAcadPeds #tweetiatricians Coming from an OB/GYN who apparently supports forcible circumcision of boys @DrJenGunter (KA-CHING!), this might be the most hypocritical article ever written My Vagina Is Terrific. Your Opinion About It Is Not. https://nyti.ms/2jvZ5uJ

#dickjack is when an OB/GYN tears your normal, healthy, natural penis apart before you've even left your birth hospitalization. No diagnosis, no disease, no consent & no ethics required#i2 @ACOG_AM@acognews@ACOGActionpic.twitter.com/AeGmkv5bow

Well, it depends on the state/hospital whether peds or OB does circ. But, no, it’s never done without consent.

Even if parental permission for a child's nontherapeutic surgery were valid consent (& AAP
#bioethics committee says it isn't), you'd still be wrong. Just ask#HeatherHironomus, whose son was circumcised w/out her freely given consent. That's happened to other parents too#i21 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
The fact that parents can disagree w/each other about whether their son should be forced to suffer an unneeded amputation of part of his penis only underscores why the correct ethical rule is that such surgeries can never be performed on a child below age of consent. #i2
