Rather than say it outright, when asked (many times) she typically 1) Cites supposed potential health benefits 2) Refuses to respond to any question on the ethics, and 3) Blocks the person who asked. #i2

Bear in mind that the near-consensus of physicians worldwide is that newborn circumcision has at best very slight potential clinical benefits. Then there's the ethics, and loss of functional anatomy.

Look it up yourself. Many national physicians organizations have policy statements on this. Only one says potential benefits exceed risks, and the published peer-response was this: http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2013/03/12/peds.2012-2896 …

#i2 Inactbydefault its very hard for people to go against the loyalty they have for their sociocultural group or professional organisation it would take a personal of moral strength and professional integrity you are asking a lot of this Doctor? Or are You?1 reply 1 retweet 1 like
I like to think the best of everyone, which is why I appeal to those very qualities when I ask US doctors to actually look at the facts & ethical issues involved here. Need to persuade US genital-cutting doctors that changing their minds is a sign of strength, not weakness #i2
