. She wouldn't know Many thousands of men are circumcised as adults because of trauma, other lesions,or religious conversion Not true of FGM btw Their experience &that of their partners is overwhelmingly neutral to positive Here is a very serious convert to Judaism writingpic.twitter.com/xcJsF4ATpo

You’re generalizing from an anecdote. Even if you can find one man whose subjective individual experience was improved, there are others whose experience was harmed greatly. That’s why it should be up to the individual, like in the case you presented.

Exactly. And the "she wouldn't know comment" is obviously baseless. FGM is also deemed a religious requirement. That
#circumcision might be medically necessary (although this is extremely rare) simply cannot justify forcing it on a healthy infant.2 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -

. I just looked up the origin of her statement She was talking about 3rd world countries with poor hygiene &poor skills Although you cite opposing opinions, the public health benefits of circumcision are undisputable

What I've cited is the clear international medical consensus, which is that the public health benefits of
#circumcision are dubious & questionable at best. That is why not a single medical organization in the world recommends forcing circumcision on a child.#i27 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

It definitely stops the risk of urinary tract infections in baby boys, which can land them in the hospital.

No, it does not. Can still get UTIs.

It's essentially an argument between parental rights/ religious rights and children's rights, and realistically the medical benefits or otherwise aren't relevant, with the obvious exception of rare medical reasons.

Parental rights&Children's rights are the same. a Child has the right to Be Jewish and receive their cultural heritage, banning circumcision is akin to ethnic cleansing in the sense that it forces Jews to stop being Jewish and this has been tried, by Greeks, Christians, Hitler..

#i2 Tell that to the daughters of the Dawoodi Bohra. A child has the right to be Jewish & keep his foreskin, regardless of your poorly-formed opinions about #circumcision.
It is the Jewish people themselves who are ending child circumcision: http://www.beyondthebris.com/
