. She wouldn't know Many thousands of men are circumcised as adults because of trauma, other lesions,or religious conversion Not true of FGM btw Their experience &that of their partners is overwhelmingly neutral to positive Here is a very serious convert to Judaism writingpic.twitter.com/xcJsF4ATpo

You’re generalizing from an anecdote. Even if you can find one man whose subjective individual experience was improved, there are others whose experience was harmed greatly. That’s why it should be up to the individual, like in the case you presented.

Exactly. And the "she wouldn't know comment" is obviously baseless. FGM is also deemed a religious requirement. That
#circumcision might be medically necessary (although this is extremely rare) simply cannot justify forcing it on a healthy infant.2 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -

. I just looked up the origin of her statement She was talking about 3rd world countries with poor hygiene &poor skills Although you cite opposing opinions, the public health benefits of circumcision are undisputable

What I've cited is the clear international medical consensus, which is that the public health benefits of
#circumcision are dubious & questionable at best. That is why not a single medical organization in the world recommends forcing circumcision on a child.#i27 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

2/.. although he hears the choice argument, he knows waiting is not a good choice since it will give the boy a painful choice, so painful it probably will as a practical matter be the reason to avoid it. People avoid the dentist because of the needle. So the answer? Cut.

Not cutting is the only legitimate choice, especially b/c effective pain relief during the procedure is available for an adult but not an infant. The reason nearly everyone w/a foreskin avoids its amputation is b/c they value it - just like every other body part. #i2
