Not as likely though as females.

. She wouldn't know Many thousands of men are circumcised as adults because of trauma, other lesions,or religious conversion Not true of FGM btw Their experience &that of their partners is overwhelmingly neutral to positive Here is a very serious convert to Judaism writingpic.twitter.com/xcJsF4ATpo

You’re generalizing from an anecdote. Even if you can find one man whose subjective individual experience was improved, there are others whose experience was harmed greatly. That’s why it should be up to the individual, like in the case you presented.

Exactly. And the "she wouldn't know comment" is obviously baseless. FGM is also deemed a religious requirement. That
#circumcision might be medically necessary (although this is extremely rare) simply cannot justify forcing it on a healthy infant.2 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -

. I just looked up the origin of her statement She was talking about 3rd world countries with poor hygiene &poor skills Although you cite opposing opinions, the public health benefits of circumcision are undisputable

What I've cited is the clear international medical consensus, which is that the public health benefits of
#circumcision are dubious & questionable at best. That is why not a single medical organization in the world recommends forcing circumcision on a child.#i27 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

. No The clear consensus was that benefits outweigh risks Similar to arguments for vaccination What you cite is a counter position that 'maybe not' But nobody says risks outweigh benefits In any case the Jewish position is we're doing it, and as carefully as necessary

You’re referring to the AAP policy that expired in 2017. Andrew Freedman, the urologist who co-authored it, clarified that the “benefits” are mainly social and the risks are unknown.

Could you provide authority for the alleged expiration & clarification? If it has expired one wouldn't know it, because it's still prominently displayed on their web site. Also, it's a health recommendation and not merely social. Newborn Male Circumcision https://www.aap.org/en-us/about-the-aap/aap-press-room/Pages/Newborn-Male-Circumcision.aspx …

It's not a "recommendation" of any kind.
@AmerAcadPeds has been asked many times to confirm its #circumcision policy statement expired in 2017 (5 years after issuance) w/no response. They're now embarrassed by how indefensible their #circumcision policy is. #i2
