Adult circ is not the same as infant circ. Done in infancy, there is no feeling of loss or nerve, the skin can grow with the cut resulting in a better outcome, less risk and complications, less cost, etc

You're absolutely right; newborn babies cannot be given the same anesthesia as an adult and often are given no anesthesia at all. Often the excuse is given that they "won't remember" the pain: http://www.cirp.org/library/pain/taddio2/ … https://www.iaim.net/extreme-trauma-from-male-circumcision-causes-damage-to-areas-of-brain/ …https://intactamerica.wordpress.com/2013/09/18/circumcision-and-rape-does-a-victims-memory-matter/ …

Comparing circ to rape isn’t a good look. Already so many of you propose we allow FGM when you’re practically pissing your pants from shrieking male circ is wrong. Hipocrisy! Sickos!

We don’t support FGM just like we don’t support MGM.

I’m glad to hear you say you don’t. Stop equation the two because it’s very confusing when you hear statements like “if you support circ then FGM is ok”

no one equates them. in the worst kind of FGM the clitoris is removed equivalent to frenulum in male but G-spot remains untouched equivalent to ridged band in male. but with MGM all of these structures are removed and altered. they are both WRONG, PERIOD.pic.twitter.com/NMmWiPaVuh

There are many different kinds of non therapeutic child genital cutting, both male and female. Some are more extensive & remove more tissue, & are more invasive than others. But all of that cutting, however extensive, is wrong. It's not rocket science. Get it through your head.

Wrong. Traditional American circumcision is therapeutic as a preventative measure. Done in infancy it is minimally invasive

"Therapeutic" and "preventative" are mutually exclusive. A procedure is either "therapeutic" b/c it's medically needed to treat a presently existing condition, or it's "preventative," b/c it might reduce the risk of later getting a condition the patient doesn't yet have. #i2
