I don’t know how to be clearer, other than to say that for concise conversation you have to deal in generals. By “your right”, in that thread I was specifically recognizing your right to choose not to circ your children. It shouldn’t be mandatory although I believe it best

LOL, what "could not be clearer" from our exchange is that in response to my post that unambiguously said non therapeutic infant #circumcision is wrong b/c I always objected (& nothing about supposed parental rights), you said "it is your right."

And when I then asked you about the violation of that right, all you could come up with "shit happens and life ain't fair." Not "it was your parent's right to cut you." I get why you've got poster's remorse about that though, now that you've thought through the implications. #i2

The shorthand for what Bacon is describing there is "confirmation bias," and it clouds the judgment of every single person who supports non therapeutic infant #circumcision. When you look only for what will support your pre-determined position, guess what you find?

Okay dude, think you got me on a technicality, but if I’m explaining my position and you don’t want to listen? It’s on you. Look in the mirror when you speak of “confirmation bias”. Much research u provided goes against your own claims. Trolololol

You've tweeted much, but not "explained" a single thing. You've ignored numerous requests to state your position on forcing Type IV #FGM on girls. You've failed to explain why the bioethical standards that apply to all other anatomy shouldn't apply to foreskin b/c you can't. #i2

I’ve answered both but I’ll say it again - all FGM is torture because it poses not a single benefit nor is based in any religion as a benefit for women. Infancy is the BEST time to get the procedure done on every front there is to consider, so as a practice it’s best done then

An act is "torture because it poses not a single benefit"? No one in their right mind would agree with that definition of "torture." Type IV #FGM is a pinprick that doesn't remove healthy tissue. If you think that's torture, then you must admit male #circumcision is too. #i2

I'm not saying it's right, but the fact is many different forms of #FGM are considered to be a religious rite of passage by many who follow the Islamic faith. Infancy is decidedly NOT "the BEST time" to get either #FGM or #MGM. #i2
