Circumcision is the most normalized and accepted act of torture. It would one day be recognized as the most widely practised and tolerated form of human rights violation.

Just to give some context: growing up in the Northeast U.S., I had no idea circumcision was controversial at all. It was and is widely practiced. In the long run, the practice may well die out, of course.

You do know that the CDC accepts male circumcision as a reasonable preventative for STIs, right?

Infants are not at risk of STIs; the data the anonymous working group at the CDC primarily relied on came from studies of adult men voluntarily circumcised in sub-Saharan Africa; the SR I assume ur referring to is unscholarly work by longstanding partisanshttps://twitter.com/briandavidearp/status/1079164114784714752?s=20 …

People seem interested in how a small group of researchers with an agenda can 'rig' a "systematic review" in medicine to make it say whatever they want, albeit dressed up in objective-sounding rhetoric. Here is a follow-up for those who want to see the details of how it is done. pic.twitter.com/yIE1BT1ohn

It helps STIs, UTIs, etc. Moreover, by the time the person is of the age of majority, odds are, they've had sex.https://medium.com/@dgoldman0/the-absurd-opposition-to-circumcision-be02cfa95992 …

You misleadingly suggest there's only 1 type of #FGM, but still haven't decided whether you support forcing Type IV #FGM on girls 🙄 Do you think girls can be legitimately forced to undergo a ritiual nick to their genitals? No more cowardly avoidance; that's a yes/no question.

Is there a systematic review that indicates limited impact on quality of life and significant benefit to personal and public health?

Of course not. There's no "systematic review" that could definitively measure either of those intangibles. Do you think girls can be legitimately forced to undergo a ritual nick to their genitals? This is the third time I'm asking, as you've ducked answering twice before. #i2
