That's all true. As to your last point, & others may fairly disagree on this, but I do think it's worth pointing out, particularly to those arguing child circumcision is somehow a "Christian" practice, that the books of the New Testament are decidedly opposed to it. #i2

If that was Peter's view, he can't have been too serious about implementing it, or persuading others to do so. I think 1 Corinthians 12:18-26 makes clear that no body parts, not even those "that seem to be weaker" are dispensable. "If one member suffers, all suffer with it."

I'm not anti-anyone's religion, just as anti-FGM isn't anti-muslim. I just don't believe others should be hurt from anyone's beliefs, religion, tribe or whatever it may be. If they want to cut themselves later on for religion, that is fine with me.

Indeed, if you are a practicing Christian, a “Christ” follower, it is crystalline clear that circumcision is “mutilation” and that Christ will be of no value to you if you let yourself be circumcised. I lost my relationship with my lovely sister over this.
