I was circumcised as a child. As my parents had no religion, I presume for medical reasons. I have said this before, and been told I must be wrong, but: I don't feel abused, or traumatised, and am in full working order. FGM is an order of magnitude worse.

Your "full working order" lacks all of this. When only 1 <18yo in 200 ever actually needs it, the "medical reasons" were in all probability just fashionable excuses.pic.twitter.com/znh5lj8UUa

Oh I'm sorry, you clearly know so much more about me than I do.

Is that supposed to be a denial of the objective truths presented to you? It's fine to feel the way you apparently do about being circumcised. But understand others who've had it forced on them feel differently, & they have valid, objectively meritorious reasons for it.

Well I'm glad it's ok to feel the way I "apparently" do. What I don't think is fine is for men to try & equate circumcision with FGM & claim it's equally as traumatic. FGM ruins womens' lives. It seems that some men are trying to hijack/diminish a serious female issue, & on IWD!

No answer to my question, then?
Type IV #FGM is, by any objective evaluation, less extensive and less invasive than #circumcision.
#i2 Let's see if you can explain - w/specific FACTS - what's wrong w/this comparative analysis of #FGM & #circumcision:https://quillette.com/2017/08/15/female-genital-mutilation-health-benefits-problem-medicalizing-morality/ …
