What"bodily integrity" did you have as a newborn? Did you choose if you were breast or bottle fed? If you were immunized? When you went to the doctor? When you started solids? Parents can make decisions for their kids - that's their job.

#i2 Even if the benefits of child circumcision outweighed its harms & risks (most MDs say the opposite), it's unethical to amputate part of a child's healthy genitals. Let's see who can explain how#MGM &#FGM are different in a way not addressed here:https://quillette.com/2017/08/15/female-genital-mutilation-health-benefits-problem-medicalizing-morality/ …2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

Easy. Circumcision is a Judeo/Christian religious practice with some proven physical benefits. God required Abraham and his descendants to circumcise all males on their 8th day of life, Genesis 17:10. God never required circumcision or to cut females in any way. Matter of faith.

Did you even read the article? If you had, you'd have seen that FGM is a Muslim religious practice, one that at least some studies suggest could have medical benefits, and that Muslims like the group described in the article believe God has required FGM as a "matter of faith."

Circumcision isn't a "Christian" practice. (Galatians 5:2: "if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you.") Outside the U.S., Christians are rightly appalled by non therapeutic infant circumcision, & have ended it (just like stoning blasphemers).

Non-US MDs evaluate the ethics & medical evidence concerning non therapeutic child circumcision w/out bias in favor of the practice. That's why the int'l medical consensus is that the practice has no proven health benefits that could possibly justify it. http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/131/4/796 …

Seems Hatwoman doesn't think circumcision is a "matter of faith" after all - or at least she doesn't if the "faith" isn't her own warped view of "Christianity," or if it's her own gender's genitals that might be cut - since she blocked me after this exchange.

But if any other pseudo-Christians want to try to explain why only girls & not boys have a fundamental right to keep the healthy bodies they're born with - in a way not already torn to shreds by @briandavidearp & w/out telling blatant lies like "it doesn't hurt them" - have at it
