it doesn't hurt them...they need to keep their arms and legs still (babies naturally are not going to) also - they usually give them glucose to calm them and for pain control and use lidocaine as local anesthetic. Also circumcision is not "mutilation"17 replies 0 retweets 7 likes -

Babies getting circumcised do not "pass out". Have you actually watched a circ? I've seen plenty. A lot of times they don't even cry. It's standard to give local anesthetic - they may feel a tiny pinch of the needle for the anesthetic, but that's it.

In regards to the hypovolemic shock article: 1. The circumcision was not performed by a trained pediatrician/surgeon and was done in the home 2. The child was 2.5 months - the article acknowledges complications increase with age 3. The child had underlying iron deficiency anemia

When Ryan Heydari died from circumcision-induced hypovolemic shock:
1. He'd been cut by a trained physician in a clinical setting
2. He was 22 days old (not that 2.5 months can be considered "aged")
3. He had no underlying condition
