I didn't decide to be circumcised, almost no one decides to be circumcised, most that are had that decision made for them as infants or children, less than 1% of all circumcisions are those that chose it for themselves, all the rest were forced to live with it.

No, the comment fails completely. No infant chooses circumcision, & infants certainly don't choose it w/no anesthetic, which is still quite common practice, even among MDs. Leave the decision to be made by adults, as all other elective surgeries are, & as
#bioethics requires.#i21 reply 1 retweet 8 likes -

When the conversation is about
#FGM, the focus is on the individual; the person whose body and whose human rights are being violated. When it’s about male infant#circumcision, the focus is on his parents, their#religiousfreedom and#parentalchoice. Why is that.

Except
#FGM is implemented by women on women. It’s no different in male circumcision; males want to force their lot on the boys, the women want to force theirs on the girls. In *both* sexes it’s about the old exerting control on the young.#i21 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -

In *both* sexes it was about sexual control, not just women. It’s simply history that western doctors medicalized them both under the pretext of stopping masturbation; the belief that neither sex ought to have more libido than necessary.

Does circumcision destroy a man’s ability to experience pleasure? No. It doesn’t. But did you know not even the worst kind of
#FGM can eliminate sexual pleasure? Research reveals this. Also transsexuals.#i2https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.3109/01674828609016749 …1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

But you see, it doesn’t matter. Whether or not a man or woman can still enjoy sex is inconsequential. Forcibly cutting off flesh from a healthy, non-consenting person is mutilation and a violation of basic human rights regardless.

B/c foreskin is innervated, its removal does reduce male sexual pleasure. When innervated tissue is removed in certain types of #FGM, that is rightly cited - w/out question - as a reason why it reduces female sexual pleasure & why it's wrong to force someone to undergo #FGM
