These are children; little girls; between the ages of 2 to 8; they have no idea and from one moment to the next they are held down by people they love. And then chop! Parts of their genitalia are gone! The law must protect them! PLEASE.

Replying to @Ayaan
Indeed, not to forget the little boys, often even earlier.

Maybe not the same thing to YOU, but you don't speak for all boys. Certainly not for this one. In the eye of the beholder. Legally they are equivalent. Should wait until the age of majority and let the individuals decide for themselves.

Legally they're both mutilation done against the will of the recipient of the procedure. I was assaulted. You cannot scientifically deny that! Go marginalize someone else.

Thanks for standing up for parents rights, Edward, especially when it comes to medically recommended procedures like newborn circumcision that protects and their future partners.

Medical necessity is rare. No, you simply teach them how to wash their penis. Newborns don't have to protect sexual partners. You should wait until they are old enough to decide for themselves. I don't think that challenging the way God made someone is necessarily the way to go.

You surely must know that both the
@AmerAcadPeds and the@CDCgov say the benefits of circumcision outweigh the risk. All boys should be snipped for good health. If it was solely cosmetic, I could see your argument about waiting. But we're talking good health here.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
You surely must know that the rest of the world's MDs say the risks outweigh the benefits. And that the AAP view is obviously baseless, b/c it's also the AAP view that “the true incidence of complications after newborn circumcision is unknown.” #i2http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/131/4/796 …
