@cooney21 I totally agree with you on Circumcision. I am a retired OB, who managed to talk many parents out of it. But there others who I couldn’t. I think it’s an unnecessary procedure on innocent children who can’t protest.

Yes, I did. After a lengthy counseling. I felt duty bound to honor their wishes, as they were my patients. I was the first in hospital to use local anesthetic. No regrets.

If it has to be done, I'd rather see someone who knows how bad it is doing it, I'd expect a doctor like that to pay more attention to the pain management, and to being careful with their cuts than others. Parents are where the buck ultimately stops, if one doctor says no they >>

Thank you for your comments. It was a dilemma for me. But I think I got through as best as I could, considering the period.

I appreciate you've come a lot further than most ex-cutters, but you're not all the way there yet. This will sound harsh but it's necessary for you to hear: you need to stop w/the bullshit excuses & rationalizations, accept & acknowledge what you did was wrong, & seek redemption

And let me suggest that redemption, when you're ready for it, ought to take the form of your reaching out to other OBs, speaking & writing publicly about your experiences, & urging doctors & parents to stop cutting healthy boys. You potentially have a very powerful voice.

Cooney, Rant all you want. I have no regrets about the ethics or the morality of my thoughtfulness when I practiced. I don’t have to explain it to the likes of you. Get off your high horse.

Not a rant, but the stone-cold truth, supported by ACTUAL legal authority you never bothered to consider. And you can't handle it.
You CAN'T explain what you did on an ethical, moral or legal basis. "Thoughtfulness"? It's your acts that need defending. #i2 @ACOG #meded #ethics
