I will point out that this has not yet been peer reviewed and we all (should) know correlation ≠ causation, but the international data collection is impressive, adding to eternal #circumcision debate

@AmerAcadPeds regularly reviews/revises policies, though it takes years. The 2012 statement was from a task force created in 2007 (last set was 1999) so for all I know, it’s already in process. What’s tricky is again, circs are performed by many non-pediatricians -
Part of that process is reviewing new literature since the last statement, so info like this may shift toward neutral or negative risk-benefit ratio. Given the multidisciplinary large group, I highly doubt all of them were clearly pro-circumcision to start.
