This seems like a case of when correlation does not equal causation. Would love thoughts from @Kidsdoc1Rick, @chadhayesmd, @Dr_ScottK! They also need to hyperlink the article for a little more credibility.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-5998771/Circumcising-newborn-boys-increases-risk-cot-death-stress-procedure.html …

I’ve not heard of the journal bioRxv. Or whatever. Even if the results are what they say, it’s far more likely to be due to some other factor (or random chance). So yes, agree with your assessment. Death 4 months later due to a very minor surgical procedure isn’t plausible.

It was poorly reported and I’m guess poorly designed as well. I’ll read the original article later.

Wow. Despite this note in the abstract, they proceeded to assert causality. The references to Jewish mythology were interesting. It seems plausible that before Germ Theory or sterile technique, circumcision may have been to blame for some male deaths.
But not today.pic.twitter.com/2j4a1woYdO

"Ah yes, in our age of modern medicine,
#circumcision is never to blame for deaths." It's too bad for your patients - & their parents - that they have a#tweetiatrician who is so obviously biased & uninformed on this subject.#i2#meded@AmerAcadPedshttps://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/newborn-bleeds-to-death-after-doctor-persuades-parents-to-have-him-circumcised-in-canada-a6710061.html …2 replies 3 retweets 5 likes -

Yes, the demonstrably false & irresponsible assertion that the advent of "sterile technique" ended #circumcision deaths is awful, but predictable when one looks back at the #bias permeating the entire thread.
