When confronted by human rights demonstrators at their nat'l conference & exhibition @AmerAcadPeds pediatricians often try to shift the blame for non therapeutic circumcision to parents.
It's as if they have no clue about THEIR ethical duties to their child patients. #i2https://twitter.com/Mindofown/status/1005298933009022976 …

They act as if they’re mere servants that do parents’ bidding. What would they do if parents asked for
#FGM? Would they do it and say “the parents made me do it?” Does that work in court? Self-serving horseshit.#i2 http://joseph4gi.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-circumcision-blame-game.html …1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

Remember that in 2010
#AAP said a ritual, non therapeutic nick to a girl's genitals would be ok. As in: no diagnosis, no disease, no patient consent - no problem! So I wouldn't put it past them to try to resurrect that policy in another misguided effort to try to justify#MGM#i21 reply 2 retweets 3 likes -

I hope they do. I seriously hope they do. Whatever happened to the court case in Detroit? When the AAP pulls that shit again, when the courts rule “freedom of religion” for
#FGM parents, saying “they’re not the same” officially becomes ineffective.#i21 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
I seriously hope they don't. Because there are parents who would actually feel enabled to do it by the AAP's say-so, notwithstanding the federal law specifically outlawing it. Last I heard, nothing is set to happen in the Detroit case soon. The wheels of justice grind slowly.
