In 2012, @AmerAcadPed said “The benefits of male infant #circumcision outweighs the risks.” They also said “The true incidence of complications after newborn circumcision is unknown.” How is this consistent? Have they started looking into the matter? #i2http://thestir.cafemom.com/parenting_news/212535/moms-post-babys-botched-circumcision …

Replying to @Joseph4GI @AmerAcadPed
Circumcision cannot be blamed for this incidence as it's the clear medical apathy. There are hundreds of such incidence in every operations that happen around the world which have shown doctors fault due to reasons . That doesn't mean we ban all that procedure.

Nontherapeutic infant circumcision can't be compared to other kinds of surgeries b/c it's the only surgery done w/out both medical need & patient consent. That alone makes it unethical, but it also makes any harm (beyond that intended) inexcusable.

Replying to @cooney21 @Joseph4GI and
I can't get why the parents role on there children is being questioned and there intention for their own child and there right to look after their child is being taken away by any one is not justified.

Unless it is to address a compelling medical need, performing surgery on a child violates every cardinal principle of medical ethics. Forcing elective surgery on a child is NOT part of a "parent's role," or right to "look after their child," however well-intentioned. #i2
